Scientific Panel of Functional Food Center
The Functional Food Center (FFC) Scientific Advisory Panel (SAP) was created on October 28, 1998. The Panel has been reestablished to International Scientific Advisory Panel (ISAP) on February 12, 2004. Members of ISAP are scientists who have sufficient professional qualifications, including training and experience, to be capable of providing expert comments as to the impact on Functional Food Products and Non Traditional Plants. Members are selected from among, but are not limited to, biology, pharmacology, biotechnology, biochemistry, biophysics, physiology, pathology, toxicology, and related sciences. The ISAP is comprised of nine core members who are internationally recognized as scientific leaders in the field of functional food products and chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, and obesity. The Panel will assist in identifying relevant practices and research and provide guidance on the scientific integrity of all functional food products.

The International Scientific Advisory Panel established a Science Review Board (SRB) consisting of at least 30 scientists who will be available to the Scientific Advisory Panel to assist in reviews conducted by the Panel.
