Food Science Publisher (previously known as
D&A Inc./FF Publishing since 2004) was founded in Dallas, Texas, USA by Dr.
Danik M. Martirosyan, who founded Functional Food Center/D&A Inc. in 1998. Food Science Publisher is especially interested
in human clinical nutrition, functional food science and chronic disease
aspects of the publishing field.
The company specializes in
publishing books in the field of food science, nutrition, and functional foods
and chronic diseases. The demand for publishing scientific articles
has grown immensely in the recent years, especially with the availability of
open access journals, where researchers can freely read and print whole
articles without charge. As of December
2010, due to growing demands, Food Science Publisher has begun to publish a
new, international journal Functional
Foods in Health and Disease (ISSN: 2160-3855), which is both peer-reviewed and open access.
Books in the Series Functional Foods and Chronic Diseases
Our first two books were edited by Danik M. Martirosyan,
PhD, and Nicholas P. Yensen, PhD, entitled Functional
Foods for the Prevention and Treatment of Cardiovascular Diseases and Functional Foods for Cardiovascular Diseases,
both dedicated to the first International Conference on Functional Foods and
Chronic Diseases. The two scientific
books became very popular among food scientists and dietitians in a short
period of time, making the company one of the best-known publishers of books
related to Functional Foods and Chronic Diseases. Within 6-7 years Food Science
Publisher has printed nine books in the new, innovative, interdisciplinary and
academic field of functional foods and chronic diseases. Each title
contains the work of hundreds of experts in the food science industry, as well
as medical doctors and researchers in the biomedical field from around the

The Journal of Functional Foods in Health and Disease
Functional
Foods in Health and Disease (FFHD), a peer-reviewed, open access, and international journal, covers various aspects of functional
foods and chronic diseases. The journal is designed to keep members of the
Functional Food Center / Functional Food Creation International Institute and
the public up to date on the latest advances in functional foods for the
prevention and management of chronic diseases. FFHD requires no subscription fees from users and there is no embargo period. The journal will strive to
develop concepts that help to understand the mechanisms of disease and creation
of specific functional and medicinal foods in the prevention and management of
various diseases. Already, through the
journal’s Reviewer's
Panel and Editorial
Board, a very imfluential

Food
Science Publisher is working to publish special issues in the biomedical field
and nominating leading scientists who can be editor of the issue, organizing
the collection of articles (5-10 articles). After the collection of
articles, the standardized peer- review process will follow. We hope to
publish some of our strongest articles through these special issues and make
our journal more professional in the field.
